Edison High School Athletes Sign National Letters of Intent HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. - 17 student-athletes in various sports across campus sat together in the Edison High School (EHS) gymnasium yesterday, with looks of excitement on their faces as they signed their National Letters of Intent, securing futures as collegiate athletes. Edison’s Athletic Signing Day began with a procession of the EHS band and cheer team, leading the student-athletes into the gymnasium. Athletic Director Rich Boyce opened up the ceremony by praising the student-athletes for their talent and hard work in their sport as well as their accomplishments in the classroom. He thanked all the coaching staff, teachers, parents, and families for their endless support, helping these athletes achieve success at the next level. The gymnasium was packed full of friends and families, excited for the next step in each athlete’s future endeavors. The 17 athletes who have committed to playing collegiate athletics are: Kendall Adams - Cheer - University of Colorado Boulder Sofia Chock - Girls Lacrosse - Colorado Mesa University Ben Crinella - Golf - University of Hawaii at Hilo Natalie Cuadras - Softball - Missouri University of Science and Technology Grant Edmonds - Volleyball - Missouri University of Science and Technology Emerson Evans - Volleyball - New York University Nathan Gates - Football - Washington State University Cailien Gorsuch - Girls Lacrosse - Aurora University Scott Hess - Soccer - Westmont College Carter Hogue - Football - Arizona Christian University Luke Jones - Football - Chapman University (not in attendance) Madison Kruis - Girls Lacrosse - Colorado Mesa University Sophia Menchine - Track & Field- University of California, San Diego Emily Robey - Soccer - George Fox University Noah Stockman - Baseball - Vassar College Brandon Winokur - Baseball - University of California, Los Angeles Sierra Zumwalt - Stunt Team - University of Kentucky Athletic Director Rich Boyce was thrilled for all the student-athletes this year, “Congratulations to all of our Edison athletes who have signed to play in college. It really is the culmination of years of hard work, dedication, and sacrifice not only by the athletes but also by their families. We are very excited to be honoring this class of 2023. They have made us all ‘Proud to be a Charger!’” The Huntington Beach Union High School District is excited to see these student-athletes achieve their dreams of playing collegiate athletics while continuing to excel in the classroom.
