Fountain Valley High School Athletes Sign National Letters of Intent

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. - Fountain Valley High School (FVHS) celebrated their athletes who are taking the next step toward their collegiate and academic careers by signing their National Letters of Intent during Athletic Signing Day yesterday afternoon.

FVHS proudly honored 12 total athletes who will compete in their sport at the next level. They were honored during the signing day ceremony by their coaches, Athletic Director Roger Holmes, and Principal Paul Lopez, before officially signing their National Letters of Intent. Families, friends, and teammates flooded into the gym, excited to cheer on the FVHS seniors who have committed to colleges around the country, and families decorated their athlete’s spots with flowers, balloons, and collegiate paraphernalia.

The 12 athletes who will begin their collegiate journeys are:

  1. Isabella Abrahams - Track & Field - University of Oregon
  2. Jenna Bixler - Softball - Western Oregon University
  3. Makenzie Butt - Softball - Boise State University
  4. Samantha Estrada - Softball - Wagner University
  5. Jessica Jang - Women’s Water Polo - California Baptist University
  6. Kayla Knoob - Women’s Soccer - California State University, San Marcos
  7. Anthony Lucio - Men’s Wrestling - California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo
  8. Nathan Marquez - Men’s Wrestling - University of the Cumberlands
  9. Kylie Phi - Women’s Golf - San Diego State University
  10. Taylor Reynolds - Softball - Wagner University
  11. Ryland Whitworth - Men’s Wrestling - West Point University
  12. Hercules Windrath - Men’s Wrestling - California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo

“It’s always one of the best days of the year when you can see our student-athletes realize their dreams,” stated Athletic Director Roger Holmes. “We are very proud of this group and how they have represented FVHS both in the classroom and with their teams.”

The Huntington Beach Union High School District is proud of the dedication, hard work, and passion these student-athletes have put not only into their sport but also in the classroom. We are excited to watch them grow as they continue on in their athletic and academic endeavors, and we can’t wait to see all they will accomplish at the next level.
