Huntington Beach Union High School District Assistant Principal Changes

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. - The Huntington Beach Union High School District (HBUHSD) is excited to announce administrative changes throughout the district.

Edison High School

Edison High School (EHS) welcomes Matt White as their new Assistant Principal of Curriculum. White joins the administration team at EHS after serving as an assistant principal at Westminster High School, overseeing both curriculum and guidance for the last five years. Before his time at Westminster, he was a valued member of Edison’s administrative team, making his return to the Charger community all the more meaningful. White’s passion and dedication to student success coupled with his vibrant and innovative leadership will be a great addition to EHS.

Huntington Beach High School

Huntington Beach High School (HBHS) welcomes Andrea Taylor as their interim Special Programs Administrator, overseeing the Huntington Beach Academy for Performing Arts (APA). She has served the Oiler community for the past 22 years, with her most recent position as APA’s Artistic Director. As a longtime educator and advocate for the arts, Taylor’s wealth of knowledge and experience will ensure a smooth transition as she continues to bolster APA and the greater Oiler community.

Marina High School

Marina High School (MHS) welcomes Kevin Fairman to their administrative team as the new Assistant Principal of Guidance, Counseling, & Wellness after most recently serving as Edison’s Assistant Principal of Curriculum and Instruction. With Fairman’s familiarity with the Viking community, having previously served on the administration team, along with his expertise and passion for education, he will be a positive addition to Marina’s campus, continuing to provide significant and lasting contributions to our students and staff.

Ocean View High School

Ocean View High School (OVHS) welcomes Kendra Rosales to the Seahawk community as their new Assistant Principal of Activities and Curriculum. Rosales joins OVHS after serving as the district’s New Teacher Induction Coordinator for the last three years, which she created to support and inspire incoming teachers. After 20 years in HBUHSD, also serving as a math teacher, math department chair, and WASC coordinator at Edison High School and the district’s Math Facilitator, Rosales’ detail-oriented and optimistic approach combined with her dedication to helping students grow will greatly benefit OVHS’s students and campus culture.

Westminster High School

Westminster High School (WHS) welcomes Wendy Harrigan as their new Assistant Principal of Guidance. Harrigan comes to the Lion Family after 17 years at Ocean View High School, where she most recently oversaw curriculum and instruction as an assistant principal. Harrigan’s passion for fostering unity and success aligns with what it means to be a Lion and will be a welcome addition to the WHS culture and community.

HBUHSD is confident that our schools will continue to excel under the leadership of these exceptional administrators, and we are excited to begin an incredible 2024-25 school year!
