MHS and FVHS Principal Planning Collaboration and authentic voice were two important aspects of staff and stakeholder meetings this week at Marina and Fountain Valley High Schools. Both of the schools will have a new principal as they begin the 2015-16 school year. Dr. Paul Morrow, of Marina, will retire from a successful career as a school leader this June. Fountain Valley saw their long-time principal Mr. Chris Herzfeld transition to a new principalship in his hometown Laguna Beach. This week, school site stakeholders were invited to share their thoughts on what personal skills and attributes would be most important in a leader at their school. The multiple sessions allowed team members to share what they were most proud of in their school culture and achievement, and how a new principal could best support their continued efforts. Both principal positions are currently being advertised across California, and interviews are being planned for April. Published March 26, 2015 Print
