Coast High School to launch student-crafted, solar-powered boat The seven-month process, created by the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (MWDSC), concludes with a three-day competition at Lake Skinner in Temecula Valley. The MWDSC hopes that, through this program, students will learn about conservation of natural resources, electrical and mechanical engineering, problem solving and more while also having fun. The MWDSC delivers water to 26 member public agencies – 14 cities, 11 municipal water districts, one county water authority – which in turn provides water to more than 19 million people.
