Fountain Valley High senior, Mimi Giang, will attend UCLA on a full ride thanks to the Gates Millennium Scholar program Article courtesy of the Orange County Register - "Scholarship makes UCLA financially possible for FVHS senior" Congratulations to Mimi Giang, Fountain Valley High School (FVHS) senior for being selected out of 53,000 applicants to receive the 2016 Gates Millennium Scholarship! With this award, Mimi will receive a full ride to UCLA, her top university choice. In addition, Mimi will also be compensated through graduate school thanks program funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. In college, Mimi plans to major in microbiology in order to go on to medical school to become an oncologist. Her motivation behind entering the medical field started her freshman year when her mom was diagnosed with cancer.
