NOTE: ALL MEALS ARE FREE FOR THE 2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR.  

All students will be offered FREE breakfast and lunch for the 2024-2025 school year.   

HBUHSD has been approved by CDE to group all our schools as CEP and will no longer collect "Free and Reduced Meal Application Forms".

In certain cases, foster children are eligible for free and reduced-price meals regardless of your income. If you have foster children living with you and want to apply for them, complete a separate application for your foster child. Include only their income and they are considered a household of one.

Direct Certification
If your household currently receives benefits from the State of California for Cal-fresh (food stamps), Cal-works, or FDPIR, and you have received a letter from the HBUHSD stating that you have been approved for FREE MEALS for the current school year, you DO NOT need to fill out a Free and Reduced Meal Application. If you are Direct Cert or McKinney Vento and need a benefits letter, please notify our Food Service Department.
